About me

My curiosity and professional experience in communications goes back nine years, when I enrolled at UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication and began having articles published in The Daily Tar Heel. Ever since then, it’s been a steady progression of acquiring new skills and putting them to use to inform and persuade the public. I graduated from UNC in 2004 with a double major in journalism and history, embarking on a five-year span of working full time for North Carolina newspapers.

Over the course of those five years, I developed a skillset that went well beyond writing and reporting. Among the thousands of pieces I’ve had published include photographs, photo illustrations and informational graphics. For the past two years I also worked in an editor capacity; designing pages, editing copy, writing editorials and creating content for the web.

Wanting to expand my knowledge and expertise beyond print newspapers, I enrolled in Elon University’s M.A. in Interactive Media program in 2009. It’s a dynamic course of study in writing, producing and managing multimedia content, with an academic focus on anticipating and theorizing on the future of communications. The program exponentially widens the possibilities for the skills I’ve developed while simultaneously sharpening my abilities as a communications specialist. I’m always looking for ways to put those talents and my considerable work ethic to good use helping people connect their message to new audiences. Contact me at bcorwin@gmail.com
